This seminar course accompanies the Department of Cellular Biology Seminar Series. Students will discuss one or two recent primary research papers by the invited speaker in the week before the actual seminar. The faculty host of the particular speaker will guide the discussion. However, this does not mean that the faculty member will lecture on this topic, or present the papers and you lean back and enjoy the show. The students will present the paper(s). As this is a small informal class I suggest that all students read each paper and are prepared to present any figure of the paper. The role as discussion leader could then move figure by figure from student to student. We have posted the discussion papers (available at this time, this list will be continuously updated) on this site in pdf format. You will need adobe acrobat reader to open, read and print these files. The class will meet on Wednesdays at 3:35 p.m. in the 7th floor Cellular Biology conference room and last for about 50 min. Please come well prepared and this should be good fun. Grading will be pass/fail and you may not miss more than 2 sessions for a passing grade. |
